Solid wastes may include waste and sludge from wastewater and water supply treatment plants, as well as other materials discarded from industrial operations. The RCRA includes provision on the disposal of solid and hazardous wastes. The Legislation encourages individual states to create comprehensive plans to manage non-hazardous and municipal waste.
